We hear more and more about probiotics and how they help us to stay healthy.  We know what antibiotics do to fight off infections, but why take them? According to WebMD, probiotics are live bacteria that are good for you. Probiotics are naturally found in the human body and in certain foods we consume. They work like motivational stones to keep our bodies clean. Often, we take antibiotics to fight infection.  Because antibiotics also destroy our probiotics, it is important to replace them with sources such as yogurt or probiotic capsules. But be careful. Some yogurt products are loaded with added sugar. According to Dr. David Brownstein (Medical Director at Michigan’s Center for Holistic Medicine), author of the Blaylock Wellness Report, probiotics are an important part of our diet.

Probiotics can help balance your good and bad bacteria to keep your body working like it should.  They help the body to fight irritable bowel syndrome, Inflammatory bowel disease, Infectious diarrhea (caused by parasites) and antibiotic-related diarrhea.  Check with your doctor to find out if probiotics can help you.
