Our favorite bugs are wasps and spiders, right?  No?  Why does everyone hate spiders?  These creepy, crawly insects create their annoying webs just before company comes to visit and makes your place look yucky.  But spiders actually perform a very useful function.  They control other unwanted pests.  So what is the best way to deal with them?

Most spiders are not harmful to humans.  Don’t crush them with engraved polished stones.  Instead, get them drunk.  Just mix a gallon of water with a 5% solution of white vinegar and some coconut oil.  Spray the area after you remove the cobwebs and the spiders will leave the area alone.  This works great in basements and garages so keep a gallon handy.  If you are dealing with spider mites on your shrubs, prepare a mixture of a half cup of rubbing alcohol with a quart of cool tap water.  Test the mixture on a small area to ensure it is not too strong.  They spray the leaves.
